Medical examiner: Kenyan student at Stanford died of suicide

The medical examiner assigned to investigate the death of a Kenyan student who died at Stanford University has revealed that the student killed herself.

Until her death, Norah Chelagat was a Computer Science student at Stamford where she had been studying since 2014. She was found dead inside her dorm room, opening doors for an investigation into her death.


Norah Chelagat died of suicide, according to medical reports.

The Santa Clara Medical Examiner’s office released the report about Norah’s death, saying that she died of suicide from poisoning.

Norah was the best girl in Nairobi County in the 2013 KCSE exams. Her death cut short a promising future.  She was laid to rest on June 29 in Uasin Gishu County.
